SpeeDee - A Plus Automotive is seeking a Mechanical Service Technician to perform brake, tune-up, diagnostic and repair services as directed by the Shop Manager. The role focuses on delivering reliable service and building trusting customer relationships through honest workmanship.

The position requires advanced automotive experience, good communication, and a proactive attitude. Growth opportunities exist within a locally owned, safety-conscious shop with training and development support.

Qualifications

• Commitment to excellence at all levels of service.
• Advanced automotive experience.
• ASE Certification in Engine Performance, Engine Repair and Brakes (preferred).
• Good communication skills and upbeat personality.
• Enthusiastic attitude and strong work ethic.
• Clean and neat appearance.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performing high quality mechanical repair services in accordance with industry approved standards
• Developing trusting customer relationships through honest and competent service
• Maintaining shop supply inventory and notifying the Shop Manager of reorders as needed
• Explaining SpeeDee programs, services and pricing structure in order to achieve high customer satisfaction and increased revenues
• Attending training sessions that are applicable to the career path and position requirements
• Ensuring equipment is functioning properly at all times and performing preventive equipment maintenance
• Following appropriate safety procedures and notifying the Shop Manager of safety hazards or needed equipment repairs

Job Summary

The Mechanical Service Technician is responsible for all brake, tune-up, diagnostic and repair services, as well as additional services as directed by the Shop Manager or Assistant Shop Manager.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to the duties listed above, every crew member is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows and clearing litter. Crew members must attend crew meetings as required, as well as other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Materials and Equipment used: Automotive oils, fluids, and lubricants. Windshield washer fluid, battery electrolyte
• Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the entire shift.
• Physical Activities: Position requires good corrected vision, hearing, frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.
