Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Jasper, IN seeks a hands-on Quality Captain to own quality across a production pod, driving defect prevention and cost targets from day one.

You will lead A3 problem solving, analyze warranty data, develop work instructions, validate vendor parts, and guide test plans (dyno, field, durability) to ensure reliable engine performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive, engine machining, or mechanical manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills (A3, 8D or similar).
• Data-driven decision-making and on-floor manufacturing experience required.
• Experience with quality systems, validation testing, and process control.
• Ability to read technical data, test results, and customer feedback.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Quality Captain for a production pod, owning overall quality performance.
• Lead and execute A3 problem-solving activities for warranty failures, test stand failures, and internal quality issues.
• Analyze warranty data and customer call notes to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with Group Leaders to maintain quality output while meeting production cost targets.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and standardized processes.
