Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on vehicles. You will work in a team-oriented shop, following safety standards and striving for quality workmanship.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and 1+ years of vehicle service experience. Schedule is Mon–Fri, with potential weekend shifts, and opportunities for ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
• 1+ years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to work days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must continue training to meet technology and fleet changes as they occur.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Vision abilities include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, Battery replacement, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
• Performs some repairs and diagnostics.
• Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance including: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, electrical systems, interior/exterior components, engine and drive-line components, etc.
• Keep the shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.
• Inspection must be completed at a higher standard.
• Ability to work independently, and self-driven.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

An entry-level vehicle technician provides high-quality vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs for vehicles. Provides exceptional service to customers and is mindful of the control of costs and time frames. The technician may work independently or in a team environment.
