Dearth Automotive in Monroe, WI is seeking an Automotive Mechanic/Technician with hands-on experience, strong communication, and excellent customer service. Join a progressive dealer group with a growing service department.

You will diagnose and repair automotive systems, perform tests, and maintain service records while following manufacturer specifications and safety standards. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required; ASE certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; Technical degree in related field is preferred
  • Previous experience in the automotive field
  • ASE certifications is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
  • Able to provide personal tools
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies
  • Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical)
  • Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
  • Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed with the most up to date information
  • Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
  • Maintain shop equipment through troubleshooting and preforming preventive maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
