Job summary

Roush is seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanic to join our Dearborn, MI team in a prototype/production environment. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, mentor teammates, and ensure parts and records meet Roush standards.

You should bring 8+ years of hands-on mechanical experience, own tools, and the ability to work overtime. This is a full-time on-site role offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of work experience as a mechanic.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to mentor and train others.
• Own tools with rolling toolbox and ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
• Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customer
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
• Lead daily shop organization and clean-up

The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met. This position is located in Dearborn, MI.

As an Automotive Mechanic Senior, you will:

To be considered as an Automotive Mechanic Senior, you will need:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 8 years ofwork experience as a mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others
• Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends
• Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures

A successful candidate may also have:

• Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
• State Mechanic Certification(s)
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
