FR Conversions is seeking an Automotive Technician Mechanic to join our hands-on shop team in Westminster, MD. You will safely disassemble vehicles for modification or repair, preserving OEM components and handling systems with precision.

Qualifications

• Must be highly detail oriented and able to follow SOPs.
• Willing to learn/use Wi-Tech tablets for diagnosing OEM electrical systems.
• Able to lift 50 lbs or more as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of how vehicles function mechanically.
• Comfortable working in loud environments and using power tools for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for OEM or transport damage prior to teardown.
• Run diagnostic codes to confirm no electrical issues.
• Inspect body and frame for damage.
• Safely purge vehicle fluids such as coolant, fuel, and brake fluid.
• Use an AC machine to reclaim engine freon.
• Remove OEM plastics, seats, and interior components without damage.
• Remove exhaust systems, brake/coolant/fuel lines.
• Secure and stow electrical harnesses for future reuse.
• Prepare the vehicle for welding by hanging tarps and foil shielding.
• Disconnect and remove rear suspension and tires.
• Cut and remove the vehicle floor and grind away welds as required.
