Job summary

Roush in Allen Park, MI is seeking an Automotive Mechanic I to modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance under mentorship and collaboration with the team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of relevant mechanic experience, plus own tools and the ability to read and follow written procedures. ASE/state certifications are a plus and overtime may be required.

• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up

The Automotive Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a widerange of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This position is in Allen Park, MI.

A successful candidate may also have:

• Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
• State Mechanic Certification(s)
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and
  balancers
• Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
