Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain findings to customers and co-workers, continually learn new techniques, and mentor teammates in a fast-paced shop environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months of hands-on experience, and a valid driver's license, with opportunities for growth and ASE certification support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license, if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brake, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of lower roles (General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Learn new techniques through formal trainings to stay current.
• Assist fellow technicians and keep management informed of problems.
• Maintain an organized, safe, clean shop and follow policies.
