Job summary

An established family-owned service shop is seeking skilled diesel mechanics to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance and repair of diesel and gas vehicles, including inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in diesel engine repair and troubleshooting. Job description

Done Right Diesel LLC is looking for great diesel mechanics that can handle responsibility for all aspects of maintenance and repair of diesel and gas vehicles including inspections and diagnostics. Repairs for mechanics range from basic PM services to in frame and transmission jobs. We take care of our customers to keep them coming back.

Job Expectations:
  • Tune automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning.
  • Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Repair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings – overhaul engines.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
  • Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, using electronic testing equipment.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust brakes – Basic Brake Service.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
  • Inspect vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
  • Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipment such as compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices.
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years’ experience.
  • Experience with light duty diesel - Cummins, Duramax, Power Stroke.
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Own basic tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical tasks required to perform this job include lifting 60+ lbs., standing, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, etc.
  • Exposure to dust, gas fumes, and extreme temperature changes.
Preferred but not Required:
  • Knowledge of current DEF and DPF systems.
  • Experience with HPCR and HEUI Diesel Engines.
  • Tear down to engine POF.
