Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experiences. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and teammates, and continuously learn to stay updated with evolving automotive tech.

Mentoring peers and maintaining a clean, safe shop are expected. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months of experience, and a valid driver’s license, with optional Section 609 Certification and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to coworkers and customers.
• Continuously learn new automotive tech through formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain organized, safe, and clean work areas.
• Adhere to company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
