Job summary

CarMax in West Point, VA is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards. You will work with a team in a climate-controlled facility and gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign models.

The role offers a New Hire Bonus up to $5,000 based on experience, competitive hourly pay from $24.70 to $41.94, and opportunities for growth through ongoing training and advancement within a large, national retailer.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2) where required.
