Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience.

This role involves explaining diagnoses to customers and coworkers, learning new techniques, mentoring teammates, and maintaining a clean, safe shop environment. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months of repair experience, and may need a Section 609 certification or state inspection license.

Qualifications

• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brake hydraulic systems, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform maintenance services and support lower-level technicians as needed.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to coworkers and customers.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair issues and maintain an organized shop.
