Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must have recent experience in an Automotive Manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Direct the preparation of and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and prepare market analysis reports.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
• Design and develop systems to implement purchasing, scheduling, inventory control and traffic for uninterrupted material flow.
• Establish plant purchasing procedures aligned with company policies.
• Develop procedures for parts suppliers to improve timeliness of delivery.
• Implement visual inventory management systems on the production floor.
• Maintain inventories to ensure availability of materials and parts for production.
• Set guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings while maintaining flow of materials.
• Assist in developing inventory budgets and managing inventories at operating levels.
• Develop procedures to handle engineering changes during the model year.
• Assist Plant Engineering and Plant Quality Manager in Vendor QA Program.
• Assist in resolving disposition of substandard materials.
• Coordinate product changes with suppliers and customers for timely start-up of production.
• Ensure on-time delivery of supplies to maintain production and shipment.
• Adapt computer technology to support orderly manufacture and on-time delivery.
• Maintain BOM and databases to support manufacturing software.
• Utilize continuous improvement methods.
• Comply with company Safety policies.
