Job summary

The Ed Napleton Automotive Group is seeking a Master Technician for Napleton Urbana Auto Park in Urbana, IL. The role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles to factory standards, often mentoring other technicians and sometimes interfacing with customers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as a Journeyman Technician, strong diagnostic skills, and proficiency with computer diagnostic tools. The position offers growth and manufacturer certification opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Journeyman Technician or related position.
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repair to specifications across braking, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including customers.
• Continuously update technical skills through formal training to stay current with automotive technology.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintains an organized and neat service bay.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper function; ensure critical parts are examined.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems.
• Perform tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
• Other duties assigned by management
