This is intermediate-level work in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of automotive mechanical or auto body equipment. Employees in the Body Repair specialty perform auto body repair work. Employees in the Mechanical Repair specialty work on mechanical and hydraulic systems of trucks, automobiles, and other vehicles and equipment. Assignments are stable in nature and are carried out in accordance with standard trade practices and general work instructions. Employees have a controlling impact on the repair assignments performed. Work involves conditions which can only be partially controlled, and light physical effort in the form of working in tiring positions and the occasional lifting of heavy material. Work is performed under the general supervision of a technical superior.
