Automotive Maintenance Technician 1 (Body Repair)

This is intermediate-level work in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of automotive mechanical or auto body equipment. Employees in the Body Repair specialty perform auto body repair work. Assignments are stable in nature and are carried out in accordance with standard trade practices and general work instructions. Work involves conditions which can only be partially controlled, and light physical effort in the form of working in tiring positions and the occasional lifting of heavy material. Work is performed under the general supervision of a technical superior.

EDUCATION:

  1. Education equivalent to completion of the equivalent of the twelfth school grade.

AND

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Two years of experience learning the automotive body repair trade as a helper or apprentice.

OR

EDUCATION:

  1. Education equivalent to completion of a post high school trade program diploma.

AND

EXPERIENCE:

  1. One year of experience learning the automotive body repair trade as a helper or apprentice.

OR

Education:

  1. Completion of an associate’s degree program in Automotive Technology or a closely related field from an accredited technical institute, college, or university.

NOTE: Employees are required, at the time of appointment, to possess and maintain a full complement of tools necessary to perform the tasks assigned.
