Job summary

Sterling St James LLC is seeking an experienced Automotive A/B Service Technician in Meriden, CT to diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of vehicles. You will work independently in a busy shop, ensuring quality workmanship and timely service.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, holds a valid driver’s license, and can communicate repair findings clearly. ASE certification is a plus, but not required. This full-time role offers competitive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous professional automotive repair experience required.
• A-Level or B-Level technician experience preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Must be dependable, professional, and committed to providing quality service.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs.
• Complete brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs.
• Perform engine and cooling system diagnostics and repairs.
• Diagnose check-engine lights and other vehicle warning systems.
• Perform tune-ups, fluid services, and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect vehicles and identify needed or recommended repairs.
• Accurately communicate repair findings and recommendations.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow proper safety procedures and shop policies.
