Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of education and/or experience in the general repair and overhaul of automotive equipment.
• Ability to read repair orders and use technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license required prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair automobiles and light trucks for mechanical and body defects.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil and hose changes.
• Repair engines, steering, suspension, brakes, and fuel/exhaust systems as needed.
• Road test vehicles and document repairs and service requests.
• Maintain records on jobs and demonstrate City of Jacksonville competencies.
