Job summary

AAA-The Auto Club Group in Greenville, SC is seeking candidates for the Car Care Leadership Development program to train future leaders to operate, lead, and maximize a Car Care Center. Participants will train with influential leaders across sites to learn core Car Care processes.

The program covers customer service and sales, financial oversight, staff coaching, scheduling, safety, and recruitment support, with opportunities to advance to Facility Manager roles and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, tools and resources to perform repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist in customer service and sales process, including repair orders and digital vehicle inspections.
  • Oversee operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities of the Car Care location (payroll, expenses, efficiency).
  • Review financial and sales reports and implement actions to meet KPIs.
  • Maintain inventory standards and optimize staff performance through coaching and training.
  • Schedule staff and assist Area/Regional Manager with hiring and promotions.
  • Ensure safety compliance and effective handling of customer issues.

Job Description

The Car Care Leadership Development program is designed to provide future leaders with the foundation and guidance to operate, lead, and maximize a Car Care Center. Team Members will train with influential leaders in various Car Care locations to ensure all Car Care processes and functions are learned and comprehended.

Learn to lead and manage the following areas to ensure optimal success as a Facility Manager, Assistant Facility Manager, or Service Advisor:

  • Lead and assist in the customer service and sales process, including but not limited to: customer service, sales, writing and updating repair orders, and digital vehicle inspections
  • Overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the Car Care location (i.e., payroll, expense control, shop efficiency)
  • Review financial and sales performance reports and profit/loss statements; implement actionable solutions to obtain performance results within key performance indicators
  • Monitor and maintain company inventory standards
  • Optimize staff performance by providing continuous training, coaching, feedback, and recognition
  • Lead employees to meet expectations of productivity, quality, and customer service standards
  • Document performance issues in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Prepare staff schedules for adequate coverage to meet member/customer service and repair needs
  • Partner with Area/Regional Manager to recruit, interview, select, and hire an appropriate number of staff to meet business needs
  • Partner with Area/Regional Manager to ensure compensation changes, promotions, demotions, and termination decisions are handled and communicated correctly
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service scores by handling customer complaints immediately, focusing on solutions, and assisting members/customers
  • Actively look for member/customer needs across all business lines; introduce members to other departments
  • Champions safety and ensures the Car Care branch is in compliance with established safety guidelines
  • Conduct investigations for safety incidents; identify with the Safety Manager opportunities for correction or improvement
Total Compensation Overview

Leadership Development will earn a competitive salary of $55,000 - $80,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

Education
  • High School diploma, GED, or technical school graduate, certification
Required Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
Experience
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources and training to independently perform a variety of usually basic repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles.
  • Understand and consistently demonstrate the proper use of equipment and tools used in such repair and maintenance, as well as the need to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Ability to consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores.
Preferred Qualifications
  • G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred
  • State inspection certificate, where applicable
  • AC 609 Certification
  • At least 6 months of customer service and sales experience.
Work Environment
  • May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment.
  • This position involves standing, walking, and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting, and carrying automotive parts and equipment (averaging up to approximately 80 pounds in weight)
  • Must have their own tools appropriate for their skill level for use in the center.
  • Must be able to work in the heat, as some locations do not have air conditioning. Fans are present in all facilities.
  • Must be able to maintain working on your feet in a concrete facility for the entire work shift.
