Job summary

Patrick Cadillac, part of the Patrick Dealer Group, is seeking a skilled Journeyman automotive mechanic to join our Cadillac Service team in Schaumburg, IL. You will diagnose and repair vehicle systems, collaborate with service advisors, and perform warranty work to manufacturer specifications.

We offer full union pay and benefits through Local 701, an award-winning team, and employee discounts. A valid driving record, ASE/GM training, and the ability to pass a drug screen are preferred

Qualifications

• Requires 2–3 years journeyman automotive experience.
• ASE Certification and/or GM Center of Learning Training preferred.
• Valid, clean driving record required.
• Willing to pass drug screen and background check.
• Must be 19 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Service Advisors on repair needs.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
• Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specs.
• Work efficiently and accurately per repair orders.
• Conduct vehicle inspections for safety and reliability.

What We’re Looking For:

• Automotive Experience: Minimum2 - 3 years Journeyman level Automotive Mechanic experience
• Preferred Qualifications: ASE Certification and/or General Motors Center of Learning Training.
• Clean Driving Record: A valid and clean driving record is essential.
• Compliance: Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
• Age Requirement: Must be 19 years of age or older.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Service Advisors: Discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
• Diagnose and Repair: Maintain and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Warranty Repairs: Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Efficient Work: Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conduct proper vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in automotive technology.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Educational Background: One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
