Position Summary

The Lead Technician position requires experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, along with leadership and mentoring skills to enhance customer care and satisfaction.

Pay Range: $23.80 - $45.52

Technicians enjoy a performance-based flat-rate pay system, rewarding efficiency and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
  • Stay current with automotive technology through paid training.
  • Assist and train other technicians.
  • Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications within two years, with company-paid testing fees and bonuses for passing exams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
  • Skilled in brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general maintenance, and tire repair.
  • Current federal, state, and local certifications/licenses.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  • Strong reading, writing, and math skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, transmissions, heating/AC.
  • Five years of automotive repair experience or vocational training.
  • A.S.E. certifications in at least three areas, with a preference for brakes and steering & suspension.
