Position Summary

The Lead Technician uses your experience and expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while leading and mentoring a team to improve customer care and satisfaction.

Pay Range: $21.06 - $41.03

Our technicians are paid based on a performance system known as flat-rate pay, rewarding efficiency and skill. Rates vary by region.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers clearly.
  • Stay current with automotive technology through ongoing paid training.
  • Assist and train technicians in technical tasks.
  • Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least five areas within two years, with company-paid testing and bonuses for passing exams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
  • Skilled in brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general maintenance, and tire repair.
  • Current federal, state, and local certifications/licenses where applicable.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, transmissions, heating/AC.
  • At least 5 years of automotive repair experience or vocational training.
  • A.S.E. certification in at least 3 areas, with a preference for brakes, steering, and suspension.
