Job summary

Northlands Job Corps is seeking an Automotive Instructor to provide students with engaging, industry-recognized automotive instruction and hands-on technical training. This role develops lessons, evaluates student progress, adapts instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and helps students build technical and workplace skills for success in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and hands-on automotive instruction aligned with industry standards and program requirements.
• Develop and prepare lesson plans, instructional activities, assessments, and training materials.
• Administer and grade tests and other assessments.
• Maintain accurate student attendance, progress, and performance records.
• Update Training Achievement Records accurately and promptly to document student progress.
• Select, adapt, and modify instructional resources to support students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and support needs.
• Manage the classroom and shop environment while providing students with individual tutoring, coaching, evaluation, and assistance.
• Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training performance, personal concerns, and study habits.
• Evaluate and supervise students participating in on-the-job training experiences.
• Provide hands-on automotive activities for students participating in the Career Preparation Period.
• Model appropriate workplace behavior and professional standards.
• Mentor students and reinforce positive behavior through consistent coaching and appropriate interventions.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom and shop environment.
