Job summary

Stellantis is seeking hardware-driven individuals to join our Central Computing team, focusing on in-house hardware design of ECUs such as HPCs, ZCUs and Propulsion Supervisors. The Hardware Architect role leads architectural decisions from concept to production with cross-functional collaboration across planning, systems, and software teams.

We expect a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 3+ years of automotive electrical experience, plus strong skills in SoC and ECU design,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree field.
  • At least 3 years of automotive electrical engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Microcontroller and/or System on Chip design and applications.
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently on abstract technical and operational tasks.
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics, datasheets, user manuals, and debug logs/traces.
  • Ability to debug complex electronic control units and/or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop physical and functional electrical architecture from concept through production.
  • Create electrical block diagrams describing major components and interfaces.
  • Develop functional diagrams that specify and describe functional interfaces, timing, and other dynamic aspects of the hardware.
  • Support technical simulations (e.g. thermal simulation) and technical analysis methods (e.g. DFMEA).
  • Defining acceptance criteria, operating parameters, configurations, use cases, and requirements.
  • Develop solutions for any discovered weaknesses in the design.
  • Ownership of architectural decisions and the resulting design documentation.
  • Close collaboration with Vehicle Planning, System Engineering and Software Engineering to ensure the Hardware Architecture fulfills all stakeholder needs now and into the future.
  • Support the portfolio of in-house Hardware products by defining a roadmap for design evolutions, new variants, and new products.
