Job Description

The Lube and Tire Technician, also called General Service Tech, is an entry-level automotive technician role at Monro. From day one, you'll participate in comprehensive mechanic training covering all aspects of your role. As a General Service Technician, you'll perform maintenance services on guest vehicles, contributing to a team dedicated to delivering 5-star guest experiences and ensuring safe, reliable transportation.

Pay is based on experience, plus incentives where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Keyholder Duties: Provide excellent customer service; supervise shop in the absence of the Store Manager; handle end-of-day paperwork and cash; assist the store manager.
• Perform mechanic duties such as changing, mounting, and installing tires; wheel removal; tire repair and balancing; tire patching and plugging; oil changes; tire inspection and rotation; basic automotive maintenance like battery installation. Training will be provided for alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance.

Compensation

The hourly wage ranges from $16 to $17 depending on experience. Additional compensation and incentives are available based on performance and experience.

Qualifications

Minimum: HS diploma or GED; automotive experience; own basic tools or participate in tool purchase program; valid driver’s license; at least 18 years old; positive attitude; collaborative mindset; ability to work overhead, stand long periods, lift 50 lbs.

Preferred: Automotive technician or tire/lube experience.
