Gipson's Tire & Auto in Millbrook, AL is seeking an Automotive General Service Technician to perform essential maintenance services and keep customers safe on the road. Responsibilities include tire mounting and balancing, oil changes, fluid services, and general repairs, with a focus on precision and efficiency.

You will document findings from thorough inspections, maintain shop equipment, and continue expanding automotive knowledge for long-term career growth within a supportive team

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of automotive systems; diagnostic tools a plus.
• Previous experience in automotive maintenance or repair is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license strongly preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, and install tires with precision and care.
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid flushes and replacements, belt and hose replacements, battery testing and installation, and general automotive repairs.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections of vehicles and accurately document any findings.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of shop equipment, including servicing portable fluid drains according to shop protocols.
• Actively expand automotive knowledge and technical skills to support long-term career development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support shop operations and team success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Mount, balance, and install tires with precision and care.

What You’ll Bring with You:

• Basic understanding of automotive systems; experience with PC-based diagnostic tools and/or digital inspections are a plus.
• Previous experience in automotive maintenance or repair is preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
• Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
