Job summary

Techskills is seeking an Exterior Design Release Engineer in Irvine, CA, onsite. The role focuses on designing and releasing exterior trim components and subsystems for automotive applications.

You will work with Styling, OEM/Tier-I partners, and CAE results to ensure target performance, cost, and manufacturability. The candidate should have a Mechanical Engineering background with extensive exterior trim experience and hands-on CATIA V6 proficiency, coordinating across design and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with strong exterior trim experience.
• Experience as DRE in interior engineering with cross-functional collaboration.
• Hands-on involvement in exterior component design and validation.

Responsibilities

• Create and release exterior component designs such as bumper, cladding, spoiler, door garnish, and fender.
• Collaborate with Styling team for feasibility studies and A-class surface checks.
• Design exterior system parts and ensure CAD models meet targets.
• Work with OEM/Tier-I design engineers to trade off cost, mass, joining methods, moulding and testing performance.
• Interpret CAE results and integrate recommendations into product design.
• Support vehicle development milestones and prototype/production builds.

Job Title: Exterior Design Release Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA (On-site)

Duration: Fulltime

Responsibilities:

• Good Working experience as DRE in interior engineering (Min 3 years)
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive exterior trim components and subsystem
• Ability to create and completion of & bumper, Cladding Spoiler, Door garnish, Fender etc.
• Work with Styling team to perform feasibility studies, Check A-class surface and define craftsman ship target..
• Design or automotive component parts in CATIA V6.
• Active y engage with Automotive OEM /Tier-I design engineers to collaborate on des trading off cost, mass, joining methods, moulding and testing performance.
• Review the inputs reserved, clarity the input queries. Make a rough initial estimation
• Good knowledge oi Exterior trim manufacturing processes
• Develop and execute Exterior system requirements tor Exterior components
• Complete and release interior components, sub-system and detailed designs
• Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design.
• Collaborate with key Exterior system and plastic component suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
