Job summary

AT&T Mobility in Lake Villa, Illinois, is seeking an Automotive Equipment Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair a diversified vehicle fleet. The role emphasizes safe operation, preventative maintenance and hands-on repair of motors, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Expect up to 40 hours weekly in a temporary assignment with opportunities to advance based on performance. A CDL is preferred, ASE certifications are valued, and a strong emphasis on safety and compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license required; CDL preferred for heavy vehicles.
• ASE certification prerequisites or equivalent recognized training.
• Minimum physical ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs; DOT exams may apply.
• Experience with automotive/heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and service procedures.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week in Lake Villa, IL.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all motor vehicles and motor-driven tools.
• Disburse gasoline, clean, lubricate, and inspect vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance on brakes, electrical, cooling, etc.
• Stay updated on new tech and service procedures for autos/equipment.
• Repair and test electrical/hydraulic equipment such as lifts and pumps.
• Record reports, prioritize repairs, and load workload scheduling.
• Order parts, manage inventory, and liaise with vendors as needed.
• Estimate repair costs and assess service quality of external shops.
• Use automotive tools and welding equipment per standards.
• Ensure safety equipment is worn and safety practices followed.
• Position AT&T as the premier provider of service and support.
• Complete any other duties assigned by supervision.
