City of Omaha seeks an Automotive Equipment Operator II to safely operate tandem axle trucks, tractors, and related equipment for maintenance, construction, and snow removal projects.
You will perform preventive maintenance, complete reports, drive in accordance with laws, and participate in park, sewer, street, and compost operations as assigned. A Class A CDL with N endorsement is required.

Nature of Work: This work involves the safe and efficient operation of various types of tandem axle trucks, farm-type tractors and related automotive, construction, and maintenance equipment. Work involves performing assigned duties that require manipulative skill. In addition to equipment operation, incumbents are required to perform manual labor. Job assignments are given in detail or follow established routines and are reviewed by an assigned supervisor. Assignments will include lead worker duties.
Education and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience.
High school graduation or its equivalent preferred AND Three (3) years of experience in the operation of automotive vehicles and equipment of the type assigned to this class, or two (2) years as an Automotive Equipment Operator I.
Special Qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Class "A" commercial drivers license with "N" endorsement, air brake certification, some with the O restriction, depending on the equipment assigned, at the time of application. Must possess a 2nd Grade Hoisting and Portable Engineers Certificate at the time of application. Depending on the division, must possess a forklift operators permit by the end of the probationary period.
Pay Range: $23.95 with step increases to $31.84 Hourly
