Base pay range

$52.00/hr - $54.00/hr

Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for the design and development of efficient automotive BIW static sealing strategies, components, and manufacturing designs to deliver the highest level of performance in NVH and air & water sealing, from program initiation through production.
  2. Design with excellence at the system and component level with great attention to detail, creating optimized designs for performance, size, weight, durability and cost.
  3. Guide the design of the BIW through criteria to assure sealing, manufacturing, and performance requirements are met.
  4. Emphasis on the ability to meet sealing requirements while maximizing the attributes delivered to the customer.
  5. Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs.
  6. Determine required tolerances using GD&T. Ensure sealing strategies are robust to variation.
Qualifications:
  1. 3+ years of expertise in automotive BIW sealing systems and sub-systems at OEM or supplier desired.
  2. Knowledge of products and processes applicable for body structures sealing such as pumpable sealers and adhesives, baffles, foams, and sealing tapes.
  3. Be able to deliver sealing system designs consistent with planned BIW assembly process.
  4. Be able to root cause sealing issues, and quickly develop and deploy solutions.
  5. Solid track record of successful system level integration.
  6. Proven 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
  7. Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly and production assembly with the willingness to assemble your own parts.
  8. Detail oriented personality with a determined problem-solving attitude using an Engineering first principles approach.
  9. Proof of excellence in your past position, while demonstrating profound creativity in resolving mechanical design problems.
Education:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from ABET accredited institution or equivalent body structures automotive experience.
