Job summary

ManpowerGroup Global, Inc. seeks an Automotive Emissions Test Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI to support the Emissions and Aftertreatment department. You will work on developing and validating emission control strategies, calibrations, and hardware integration to meet regulatory standards.

You will collaborate across teams, run tests with dynamometers, and use modeling tools to drive physics-based decisions, contributing to cutting-edge emissions technology and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Computer Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 2+ years of systems-level engineering experience with hardware, controls, or calibration development.
• Experience with emissions testing and engine hardware.
• Familiarity with GT-Power, AVL Boost, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of combustion, OBD, and electrified propulsion.
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, compare, and improve gasoline engine aftertreatment systems to meet or exceed regulatory standards.
• Develop and integrate system technologies including engine hardware, exhaust sensors, control strategies, and calibration.

Our client is seeking a Automotive Emissions Test Engineer to join their team. As a Automotive Emissions Test Engineer, you will be part of the Emissions and Aftertreatment department supporting vehicle development and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have analytical thinking, proactive problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

• Plan, execute, and analyze testing activities to optimize emissions and engine performance

What's Needed?

• Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• 2+ years of experience in systems-level engineering with hardware, controls, or calibration development
• Experience with emissions testing, engine hardware, and virtual analysis tools such as GT-Power, AVL Boost, or similar
• Knowledge of combustion processes, engine hardware, OBD systems, and electrified propulsion systems
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in teams
