Job summary

Actalent in Sabina, OH is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate electrical test systems for high-volume manufacturing. You will support current production and new models, building and retooling equipment and applying machine vision solutions on the test floor.

The role requires 2+ years in automotive/manufacturing, strong PLC and embedded-C experience, and familiarity with machine vision and ISO/ANSI/NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in automotive or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits and schematics with hands-on software focus.
• Experience developing software/applications in C#, C/C++, SQL.
• Ability to work with ladder logic and PLC programming in regulated manufacturing.
• Familiarity with industrial I/O interfaces, PCI/PCIe, PC-based I/O systems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation calibration for production test equipment.
• Experience with embedded C in industrial/automotive contexts.
• Understanding of machine vision and integration into automated test systems.
• Familiarity with ISO, ANSI, NFPA 79, NEC, and US DOT vehicle display regulations.
• Basic computer hardware knowledge to support PC-based test systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for electrical testing in current production and new model additions.
• Design, develop, and validate electrical test systems for high-volume manufacturing.
• Set up machines for new models, retooling equipment and implementing machine vision.
• Investigate and develop new testing methods, templates, and tools for R&D.
• Troubleshoot test equipment and reduce downtime for production and maintenance teams.
• Configure tests in response to rejects and quality escapes to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain SQL databases for testing, data collection, and reporting.
• Implement design changes to improve performance and compliance.
• Train production and maintenance staff on new and existing test equipment and processes.
• Provide ongoing support for existing equipment and new model tests.
• Ensure test systems comply with ISO, ANSI, NFPA 79, NEC, and US DOT regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
