Job summary

Standard Motor Products, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Laboratory Technician to complete testing and evaluation of electro-mechanical and electronic automotive products based on internal specs and industry standards.

You will assemble test set-ups, perform tests, and write reports with data and observations while reading complex schematics and contributing to failure analysis. The role requires maintaining an organized lab and using standard lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or BS in Engineering Technology.
• Strong background in electrical circuits; CAD modeling with SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and email.
• Organized and detail-oriented for accurate test results.
• 3 years' engineering or automotive experience preferred.
• Must read/write/speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble test set-ups for evaluation of products.
• Perform testing and write reports with data, findings and observations.
• Read and interpret complex specifications and schematics.
• Contribute to analysis of competitor products and failure mode reports.
• Maintain an organized lab environment.
• Use lab tools, measurement devices and electrical equipment.
