IAM Mechanics' Local 701 Technician Training Center is seeking an experienced Automotive & Diesel Instructor to lead hands-on instruction, develop curriculum, and mentor students across automotive and medium/heavy truck topics. The role emphasizes safety, teaching excellence, and real-world industry expertise in a collaborative training facility.

The position runs full-time with a standard 8-hour day, Monday–Friday, offering competitive wages, comprehensive benefits including health insurance

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry experience in Automotive/Medium/Heavy Truck.
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience at a professional training facility within the last 10 years.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• ASE Master Certification in Automotive and Truck series or ability to achieve Master status within 120 days of start date.
• Proficiency using Google Drive apps and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, creativity, and presentation skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and abilities.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and hands-on training in shop/lab environments.
• Assist in curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Grade and track student performance and conduct evaluations.
• Proctor tests and mentor students throughout the program.
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
