Job summary

Diehl Chevrolet of Hermitage in Pennsylvania seeks a detail‑oriented Dealership Accountant to support accurate accounting and financial reporting across dealership locations. The role covers general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, vehicle and inventory accounting, cash management, accounts payable and receivable, and month‑end closing.

You will work closely with dealership management and accounting leadership to uphold strong controls and ensure timely recording of transactions.

Qualifications

• Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Strong computer skills; Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with accounting personnel and dealership leadership.
• Ability to research discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash deposits and review cash clearing transactions.
• Post journal entries and accounting adjustments.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and investigate items.
• Reconcile credit card transactions and statements.
• Review dealership transactions for proper accounting treatment and documentation.
• Research and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate records per policies and practices.
• Assist leadership with financial statement review and variance analysis.
• Reconcile vehicle inventory to GL; monitor contracts in transit.
• Assist with dealer trades, inventory transfers, and payoffs.
• Work with sales and F&I to resolve accounting issues.
