Job summary

Grease Monkey Tempe AZ is seeking an Automotive Courtesy Technician to be the first point of contact for customers, greeting them and explaining service recommendations. You will perform vehicle courtesy inspections, assist technicians with preventive maintenance, keep the shop clean, and handle vehicles safely and professionally.

You will support the service team to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction, provide outstanding service throughout each visit, and help drive repeat business

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No automotive experience required—paid training provided.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers promptly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Explain service recommendations and answer basic customer questions.
  • Direct vehicles safely into and out of service bays.
  • Provide outstanding customer service throughout the entire visit.
  • Thank customers and invite them to return for future service.
  • Perform complimentary vehicle inspections.
  • Check engine oil and other fluid levels.
  • Inspect tire pressure and adjust as needed.
  • Check windshield wipers, lights, battery condition, and belts.
  • Inspect air filters and cabin air filters.
  • Clean vehicle windows and vacuum floor mats (if offered by the store).
  • Verify service reminders and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist Lube Technicians with oil changes and preventative maintenance.
  • Restock inventory, fluids, filters, and shop supplies.
  • Keep the lobby, restrooms, bays, and exterior areas clean and organized.
  • Remove trash and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.

Position Summary

The Automotive Courtesy Technician is the first point of contact for customers and plays a key role in delivering an exceptional service experience. This position is responsible for greeting customers, performing vehicle courtesy inspections, assisting technicians with preventative maintenance services, maintaining a clean facility, and ensuring vehicles are handled safely and professionally. The Courtesy Technician serves as the bridge between the customer and the service team while helping maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Service
  • Welcome customers promptly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Explain service recommendations and answer basic customer questions.

Vehicle Courtesy Services
