Job summary

TOOGANN TECHNOLOGIES in Troy, MI invites a Cost Engineer to partner with Finance and Supply Chain on BOM cost management for vehicle programs. You will generate ground-up cost estimates, analyze costs, and drive cost reductions across engineering, purchasing, and program teams.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in OEM cost roles, strong Excel skills, CAD proficiency, and experience with cost modeling tools like Apriori. Travel may be required in a fast-evolving automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, engineering) required.
• Cost engineering software expertise required.
• CAD expertise with all major systems required.
• Tooling expertise with plastics, metal, castings, sheet metal, HV wiring, etc.
• 1–3+ years of OEM experience or equivalent; multinational experience preferred.
• Experience in product costing, development finance and cost reduction.
• Excellent Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Adaptable to a growing, dynamic automotive environment.
• Background in automotive/tech industries preferred.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily/weekly should-cost model updates for Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Studio teams.
• Prioritize should-cost model targets for Supply Chain team.
• Run high-level cost modeling using Apriori and other methods.
• Build Core team to support all major components.
• Set cost targets for major vehicle components.
• Review CAD models with engineering for cost-saving ideas.
• Assist with supplier negotiations and cost reviews.
• Teach and mentor team members on Apriori platforms.
• Interview and hire cost team members.
• Build team to support full EBOM.
• Check CAD files for DFM, feasibility, best materials for cost/performance.
• Assist Finance in setting targets in project X to achieve EBOM cost goals.
