Job summary

Rimrock / Snowy Mountain Automotive Group in Billings, Montana, is seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to lead financial operations across multiple dealerships (CDJR, Ford, Chevrolet). You will run the books, guide the accounting team, and drive accountability.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes clean financial statements, month-end close, floorplan reconciliations, cash flow, and internal controls, with strong collaboration with general managers and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIP ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
• Proven experience as an Automotive Dealership Controller or equivalent senior dealership accounting leader.
• Multi-rooftop dealership accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with CDJR, Ford, Chevrolet or other franchised dealerships is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial operations across multiple dealership rooftops.
• Manage financial reporting for CDJR, Ford, and Chevrolet dealerships.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements with timely submission.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Oversee all accounting and financial operations across multiple dealership rooftops.

• Ensure accurate manufacturer financial reporting and compliance.
• Review schedules, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
• Establish and maintain strong internal accounting controls.
• Monitor dealership expenses and identify opportunities for improved profitability.

• Ensure financial accuracy and consistency across all dealership locations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIP ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
• Proven experience as an Automotive Dealership Controller or equivalent senior dealership accounting leader.
• Multi-rooftop dealership accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of automotive dealership financial statements and manufacturer reporting.
• Experience with CDJR, Ford, Chevrolet, or other franchised dealerships preferred.
• Dealertrack DMS experience is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of general ledger, floorplan accounting, inventory, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience managing accounting teams and overseeing multiple financial operations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced dealership environment.
• Experience with automotive dealership management systems (DMS).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with dealership leadership.
