Overview

Our Family owned Battery Shop located in Providence has been in business since 1966. We sell all kinds of batteries and install mainly automotive batteries. We currently have a part-time position open for someone who wants to join our family of battery experts. We will train the right individual who has automotive experience. No weekends, and no nights. Competitive pay based on experience. Must have automotive knowledge and experience.

Hiring: Part-time Position. (Approx 20 hours per week.)

Store Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities

• Hybrid role combining customer service, battery installation, and point-of-sale (POS) transaction operations (cashing out customers).
• Test, install, and maintain car batteries; assist customers with inquiries and transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth installation and maintenance of batteries.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive field, parts, or service.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education a plus.
• Strong technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle tasks (waiting on customers, answering phone calls, cashing out customers).
• Curious by nature and willing to learn; able to ask specific problem-solving questions.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation with current insurance on the vehicle.
• Ability to exchange accurate information over a landline phone and in person with customers.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently moves and lifts heavy batteries (up to 60 lbs) daily.
• Will need to move, bend, lift, squat, and ascend/descend stairs frequently in and outside the store and garage to complete installations and handle products.
