Job Description

About The Role:

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, hourly position based on business needs. As a key holder and manager on duty (MOD), the Assistant Manager oversees store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or as required. Responsibilities include managing automotive retail service and repair operations to meet standards and achieve performance and profitability goals. Ensuring all team members deliver exceptional 5-star service, communicating effectively with guests, and meeting time and quality expectations are essential.

Compensation:

The hourly rate ranges from $18.00 to $20.00, with potential additional incentives. Pay depends on experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule guest appointments to optimize technician productivity and timely service completion.
  2. Contribute to sales goals by informing and recommending tire and service products and promotions.
  3. Attend to guest needs in sales, service, complaints, and adjustments.
  4. Build guest relationships to enhance satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
  5. Assist technicians in communicating repair and service needs.
  6. Maintain store cleanliness and condition per Monro standards.
  7. Oversee inventory management, including pulling, unloading, and stocking parts and tires.
  8. Provide direction to technicians and assist with services/repairs as needed.
  9. Organize workflow to utilize technician skills efficiently and effectively.
  10. Adhere to company policies, safety standards, environmental codes, and OSHA standards.
  11. Perform Store Manager functions as needed.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum two years retail experience or equivalent education/experience.
  3. Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  4. ASE certification and State Inspection License preferred.
  5. Ability to motivate and influence a team to meet goals.
  6. Strong problem-solving, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service skills.
  7. Effective communication skills with teammates and guests.
  8. Complete required training within specified timelines.
  9. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR; ability to operate customer vehicles for test drives.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  1. Work occurs in an automotive shop environment with moderate noise, weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust.
  2. Must be able to see, hear, speak, lift, carry, and stock up to 50 lbs.
  3. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping.
