Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an Assembly Operator to support automotive production in an on-site Michigan facility. You will operate several assembly machines in secondary operations, apply Lean practices, and ensure quality per the Control Plan.

Daily tasks include SAP label printing, data entry, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced line. The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to 5S, and timely reporting of defects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria.
• Comfort using a computer and common workplace equipment (SAP handheld scanners, calculators, printers).

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple assembly machines in secondary operations following operator instructions.
• Inspect parts visually and with gauges per the Control Plan and Quality check sheet.
• Own the quality of all parts produced in the work cell and promptly report defects.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; practice 5S consistently.
• Sustain the pace and rigor of an automotive production environment.
• Scan and print SAP product labels using SAP handheld scanners and printers.
• Complete daily documentation: production reports, PPLH, scrap reports, and the 5S housekeeping sheet.
• Serve as a wastewater handler after environmental training.
• Support Lean initiatives and Elimination of Waste Team Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader.

Day in the lifeYou arrive at your assembly cell ready to support the plant’s daily assembly operations. You review operator instructions for secondary operations, check your gauges, and start up the equipment. Throughout the shift, you run multiple assembly machines, verify quality against the Control Plan and Quality check sheet, keep the area organized with 5S, and keep pace with a fast-moving automotive line. When you spot something off, you notify the Team Leader or Supervisor, document it, and keep production flowing.
