Job summary

Nielsen Ford of Sussex is seeking Automotive Apprentice Technicians to join the service team in Sussex, New Jersey. The position offers full-time, on-site work with a structured apprenticeship program and coaching from experienced technicians and managers.

Pay during the apprenticeship is $18–$20 per hour, paid weekly, with opportunities for pay progression as training levels and skills advance. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in automotive maintenance, repair, and diagnostic technology.
• Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning how vehicle systems operate.
• Willingness to learn through coaching and progressively advanced assignments.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the apprentice development and coaching program.
• Assist with inspections, routine maintenance, and entry-level repairs.
• Learn to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic concerns.
• Develop proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and manufacturer service information.
• Document inspections and work performed on repair orders.
