Job summary

Auto Warehousing Company (AWC) is seeking a dedicated Accessory Installer at our Baltimore Fairfield location to perform disassembly and reassembly of vehicle parts as detailed in work orders. The role requires comfort with hand tools and precise workmanship to restore vehicles to proper condition.

The position focuses on installing safety components, trimming, partitions, and related hardware, with emphasis on attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months experience or vocational education in manufacturing/assembly recommended.
• Pass the AWC driver safety test at 80% or better.
• Follow written and verbal directions; valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle for removal and replacement of air bag.
• Drive and park vehicle in the correct work station.
• Verify VIN matches work order.
• Disassemble and reassemble trim parts; place on shadow board.
• Remove and replace fasteners; disconnect wire harness.
• Use impact gun to remove/install air bags.
• Assemble partitions and adjust lighting in cargo area.
• Route wire harness and test continuity; secure components in place.
• Train and mentor new associates; perform duties as assigned.

AWC is hiring a full time Accessory Installers at our Baltimore Fairfield location (Curtis Bay area).

The general pay for this position is $20.33-$22.59 per Hour

Summary of Position:

The primary responsibility of this position is to execute the disassembly/reassembly of vehicle parts as specified in the work order. This ensures that all components are properly removed and/or correctly installed and the vehicle is restored to its proper condition. Incumbents to this position must be comfortable utilizing various hand tools in the performance of their duties.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Tasks:

• Prepare vehicle for removal and replacement of air bag
• Drive and park vehicle in appropriate work station
• Verify the VIN of vehicle is the VIN on the work order
• Remove all trim parts in vehicle and place them on the shadow board for reassembly
• Remove and replace fasteners, and disengage wire harness
• Utilize impact gun to disengage and remove air bag
• Remove and ensure proper disposition air bag
• Obtain proper air bag
• Connect air bag to wire harness and secure in place
• Reassemble all trim pieces that were removed and place on shadow board
• Install cargo partition between passenger and cargo area
• Obtain appropriate lower partition from kitting rack
• Install and secure by bolting partition in place
• Obtain appropriate upper partition from kitting rack
• Install and secure by clipping, riveting, and bolting partition in place
• Reposition existing lights in the cargo area of the vehicle
• Obtain jumper wire from kitting cart
• Connect jumper wire and route wire harness into the proper location in the vehicle frame
• Snap dome lights into proper opening
• Change out front headliner and install scuff plates
• Disassemble and remove trim pieces to access headliner
• Route wire harness with dome light to the appropriate space
• Verify continuity within wire harness
• Obtain appropriate headliner, and guide into place
• Secure headliner with push pins and reassemble trim pieces into place
• Obtain appropriate scuff plate from the kitting cart
• Position scuff plate in line with screw holes and secure utilizing screw gun
• Keep tools maintained and secure
• Train and develop new associates and team members
• Execute all other duties as assigned by management
