Job summary

Optimal is seeking a Software Tools Developer to join the SW Updates Test Automation & Tools Development team. The role focuses on building and maintaining automation tools, frameworks, and test infrastructure for automotive infotainment testing.

Responsibilities include developing automation scripts, test libraries, and configurations for test collateral, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile Scrum environment to improve test efficiency and coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in object-oriented analysis and design, multithreading, algorithms, and data structures.
• 2+ years of Python development experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to root-cause problems creatively and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software tools and automation features that support automated testing.
• Develop and maintain test libraries that interface with ECUs, test management systems, and defect tracking systems.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to convert manual test cases into automated tests.
• Develop and maintain automation configurations and execution pipelines for test collateral and tools.
• Collaborate with development teams and manual test teams to understand testing requirements and implement the needed tools and test scripts.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, identify regressions, and maintain alignment with team standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing solutions and propose innovative approaches to unresolved testing problems.
• Contribute to team deliverables through participation in Agile Scrum development sprints.
