Job Description

Automation Tester on the UXL Platform team. This role is part of the team focused on building our next-generation UXL platform using GraphQL technology. Appropriate candidates have a passion for GraphQL and emerging technologies, a vision for testing next-generation capabilities, and a strong drive for success.

The Automation Tester will be a testing expert and lead test engineer for the UXL Platform team. Responsibilities include delivering large, high-impact initiatives and supporting the UXL platform. The role involves working with the QE Manager, Engineering team, Service Provider team, and others to define and execute testing strategies, plans, and activities.

This role will execute test cases supporting both automated and manual testing, innovate automation ideas, optimize test executions, and reduce testing cycles in a fast-paced environment.

The Automation Tester will take technical ownership of Service Provider deliverables, lead technical resources, ensure high quality, compliance with standards, and performance at scale. Additionally, the role involves researching emerging technologies and solving complex technical issues.

Position Details

• Location: Bethesda, MD - Hybrid
• Contract Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Responsibilities

• Lead testing efforts for the UXL Platform using GraphQL technology.
• Define and implement testing strategies, plans, and activities.
• Execute automated and manual test cases, innovate automation solutions, and optimize testing cycles.
• Manage technical deliverables, ensure quality, and lead technical teams.
• Research emerging technologies and resolve complex technical issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience/certification.
• 8+ years in Test Automation, QA, or IT operations with open source and enterprise testing tools.
• 4+ years creating test strategies, plans, and cases in API testing.
• Experience developing API/GraphQL automation frameworks from scratch.
• Proficiency with API/GraphQL testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, Karate, etc.
• Experience with GraphQL, Apollo, Jenkins, WireMock, NeoLoad, LoadRunner, K6, Gherkin, Cucumber, JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js, and Agile tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Leadership skills and ability to deliver results in complex, Agile environments.
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, and excellent communication.
• Experience with AWS and SAFe Agile is a plus.
