Job summary

NTT DATA's client in Irving, Texas seeks an experienced Automation Tester to join the team and help build scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests in Java or Python, integrate with CI/CD pipelines, and work within Agile/Scrum teams to improve quality and delivery velocity.

You will mentor junior QA engineers, analyze requirements, provide test metrics, and stay current with trends in automation and security testing,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in test automation / SDET roles.
• 4-5 years in Java or Python.
• 5+ years with UI automation tools (Selenium/Playwright/Cypress).
• 3-5 years API automation (REST Assured, Postman).
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest).
• 5+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• 5+ years SQL and database testing.
• 3-5 years testing microservices & distributed systems.
• Exposure to AWS/Azure/GCP.
• 3-5 years Docker and containers (Kubernetes a plus).
• Understanding performance and security testing basics (JMeter, OWASP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing.
• Identify test scenarios suitable for automation and ensure high automation coverage.
• Develop automated test scripts using Java or Python.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and system testing.
• Execute automated and limited manual tests where required.
• Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, and test strategy discussions.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Enable shift-left testing and continuous quality checks.
• Work with DevOps teams to support containerized and cloud-based test execution.
• Work as part of Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers to debug issues and improve testability.
• Provide clear test metrics, reports, and quality insights to stakeholders.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to test tools, frameworks, and processes.
• Stay updated with latest trends in test automation and quality engineering.
• Mentor junior QA/Automation engineers when needed.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation & Framework Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing

Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in test automation / SDET roles
• 4-5 years of Strong programming skills in Java or Python
• 5+ years of experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
• 3-5 years of Strong API automation experience using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest)
• 5+ years of Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
• 5+ years of working knowledge of SQL and database testing
• 3-5 years of experience testing microservices and distributed systems
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
• 3-5 years of experience with Docker and containers (Kubernetes is a plus)
• Understanding of performance and security testing basics (JMeter, OWASP concepts)
