Job summary

L&T Technology Services seeks an Automation Technician/Engineer for Lake Bluff, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL. You will diagnose and fix molding automation issues, program robots, optimize cycles, and maintain automation systems across production lines.

Qualifications

Bachelors in engineering; plus a formal Mechatronics/Robotics/Automation credential.
3+ years in automation for manufacturing, preferably injection molding.
Hands-on robot programming and issue resolution experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve issues with molding automation systems (robots, conveyors, sensors, vision).
Respond to alarms and faults in real time to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to address recurring issues.
Program and fine-tune molding robots for handling, degating, packaging.
Modify robot paths to improve cycle time and part quality.
Maintain backups and documentation of programs and settings.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
Keep logs of maintenance activities and performance data.
Support mold trials and new product launches with automation sequences.
Recommend improvements to layouts and workflows; participate in kaizen.
Ensure safety guidelines and ISO/FDA/GMP compliance where applicable.
