Job summary

DeWys Manufacturing in Michigan is seeking an automation-focused technician to monitor and program manufacturing equipment, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met. You will lead setup, calibration, and process improvements in coordination with the maintenance and estimating teams.

The role requires an AA or equivalent with 5+ years in manufacturing, blueprints literacy, and a valid Michigan driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Clear and effective communication skills to promote teamwork.
  • AA or equivalent with 5+ years in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication, plus leadership training.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering specs, safety/work rules, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and apply algebra and geometry; must pass DeWys competency test.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with varied variables; strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License to operate lift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team leads to ensure machines meet production and quality goals and coordinate with fixtures and innovation/estimating for cost-effective quotes.
  • Create and maintain clear setup instructions for processes.
  • Conduct offline programming for equipment.
  • Maintain flexible schedule to meet green light time measurements.
  • Program management: create processes and setup logic using standard methods.
  • Calibrate equipment regularly to maintain accuracy of programs and operations.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment condition, coordinating with maintenance.
