Job summary

Bayer is hiring an Automation Technician in Farmer City, IL. You will set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing systems, ensuring optimal plant performance. You will interact with Maintenance Engineers and production teams to support training and continuous improvement.

The role requires a High School Diploma with 3 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work varied shifts, including overtime. Familiarity with NFPA 70 and SAP/PLC systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 3 years of applicable experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Open to working days, nights, weekends and overtime per business needs.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing production systems.
• Conduct routine analytics, take samples, and document results during shift handovers.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance with the technical team for maximum plant availability.
• Collaborate with contractors, technicians, and Site Leadership for training and improvement.
• Operate forklifts, fill and manage tank wagons, and maintain housekeeping.
• Perform interlock tests and ensure reliability of control systems and data transfer.
