Job summary

Varsity Spirit is seeking an experienced maintenance professional to perform advanced electrical/PLC troubleshooting and general mechanical repair on high-speed bindery and printing presses. This onsite role in Edwardsville, KS requires strong independent work, safety focus, and the ability to lead maintenance projects.

The ideal candidate has a mechatronics or industrial electronics background with 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, and hands-on skills with PLCs, drives, and

Qualifications

• Credentials: 1-year certificate from a technical school (Mechatronics or Industrial Electronics); or 5+ years related maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical/PLC troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced plant environment.
• Experience with high-speed print and bindery equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault-find, and troubleshoot plant PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) to minimize downtime.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical infrastructure and related controls.
• Test components with voltmeters, megohmmeters, and sensors to ensure performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement improvements in automation and equipment reliability.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safe, organized housekeeping on the shop floor.
